1. Describe woman's roles in Russia. Compare to woman's roles in the US.

The role women play in Russia is big roles compared to the US. People really actually look up to women in Russia and they think of them as true heroes. Usually women of the society the responsible ones. In the US. there are some women like that but not for real. Also in Russia Women have their on day.

2.Describe how a typical Russian family lives

Well a typical family in Russia lives dependent upon all its members. Most Families in Russia aren't that big compared to the US. because women must work outside the house and bear responsibility for their household and children.

3.Describe gift giving etiquette in your own words. Compare to gift giving in the US.

Gift Giving etiquette is an arrangement of gifts between families and close friends in Russia. They have specific rules about giving gifts. Men that are sharing a gift must bring flowers but not any yellow flowers. Also people in Russia feel that it is bad luck to give a unborn baby a gift.

4.How does a typical Russian meal differ from a meal in the US?

A typical meal in Russia isn't just like an average meal in the US. because they have special ingredients that people may think wont taste right.

5.Describe modern Russian music - compare/contrast to American music

Well Russian music isn't that lyrical like ours. We have different types of music and all of their music sounds the same.

Some facts that I learned about Russia was that the population decline is expected to worsen in the next decade. Due to poor health conditions, industrial pollution and reliance on abortion for birth control it reduced fertility rates and maternal and infant mortality. Also I like that is Russia basically have their on Holiday. Which means for 24 hours people get to treat you like a queen and respect you for all the things you did and achieved. I really don't understand why babies cant get gifts before there born though but I guess that's their culture. Some last facts that I enjoyed was that some of the Russians food looks delicious and they have similar taste just like Americans.

Russia is in Northern Asia. The capital is Moscow. The climate is humid and warm but can tend to get slightly cold along the Artic coast. Russian has an immense population of about 143,782,338 people. The ethnicity in Russia is 81.5% Russian, 3.8% Tartar, 3% Ukrainian, 1.2% Chuvash, 1.2%, 0.9% Bashkir, 0.8% Belarusian, 0.7% Moldavian, other 8.1% other. The religion is Russian Orthodox, Muslim, and other. The government is a federation.

A russian family depends on each other support. Most Russians are situated in small apartments with 1 or 2 generations living with them. Most families are small with only one child because women bear jobs and must also take care of daily chores and the whole household.

The greeting of Russians is a very firm handshake with direct eye contact. When men shake hands with women the handshake is not as firm. When female women meet as friends they kiss on the cheek three times beginning with the left cheek then proceeding to the right cheek. When Male friends meet they give each other pats on the back or hugs suffice.

When giving a gift there are certain things to remember like bringing a small gift when invited to someone's home, males always are expected to bring flowers. Yellow flowers are not ot be given in any case scenario. A baby gift shall not be given until the baby is born...for doing so before hand is considered bad luck. Russians protest when often given a gift, reply to them its just a simple little something, something and they shall accept it.
When invited to a Russian's house arrive on time or no more than 15 minutes late. Remove your shoes...You will be offered slippers to wear. Dress respectably, casual type clothes will suffice. Expected to be treated very generously. Offer to help clean up after a meal is served.

Relationships & Communications

Russians are the type of people who do not need to form a bond before meeting a person to do business. A network of people you know is trust is a good idea for you not to be so zoned out or feeling like an outcast. A good idea is to be formal when first making contact with people. When someone asks you a favor that is a sign that you may have developed a trusty relationship for them to ask you a favor of them.

1.Russia's communal spirit is how a community functions with politics and the economy. it is taking pride of your economic state whenever possible. It comes from something that was establishe damong the Russian people as a whole.

2.In Russia running only legal orginizations and associations were created and cintrolled by the government. In the U.S. we have a freedom of starting a company and they were ran by the entreprenuers or a private company. Private companies in Russia are owned and run by the creators. The government has no say in the policies or limitaions of the compnay.

3.When Russians celebrate holidays are first and foremost are on different days. There are some holidays in Russia that are never going to be considered in the U.S. and vice versa. Russia has a sense of community when celbrating a holiday. They could have a big parade while U.S. citiziens are with their own families distant from each other. U.S. and Russia share internatinal holidays, such as Christmas. they also have their own diverse custom and beliefs on celebrating this holiday.

4. Dusha is soul...It symbolizes the various trials Russia went htrough to get to the way it is currently.

5.I think Russia is more succesful in cretaing harmony in diversity because they have a sense of family and unity. They can resolve their conflicts peacefully. You do not hear much about them in the media baout petty situations that could be resolved with negotiating.

2.Gift giving ettiquete is when you have alot of respect. You have to have eye contact, shake a womens hand gentally and bring flowers. They cannot be yellow and you cant give a baby a gift until after birth. In the U.S males shake womens hands firmly. Most of the time we dont have respect or give eye contact. We have baby showers for babies when their not born yet and give them lots of gifts.
4. In Russia the women should wear coloured business suits with skirts that cover their knees. The Russian womens jobs and responsibilities are alot compared to ours. In the U.S we can wear short skirts and booty shorts. I mean not to school but in public.
9.A typical Russian meal is way diffrent from ours. They cant be more than fifteen minutes late. But here black people always late. The'll show 20 minutes late. In Russia they have to take off their shoes and the Eldest person is served first. You cannot eat until they say you can. But in the U.S black people will eat while you are blessing the food. In Russia it is polite to soak your bread in sauce. That is disguisting.
10. Russian music is diffrent to ours.Theirs is like more pop and jazz like. Ours is way better. We have better beats and really good artists.

#2.
To me Russia has more etiquette than people in the U.S. From my point of view, they can show more appreciation when they exchange gifts. They give gifts for families or even family friends. The etiquette usually takes place during birthdays, New Year, and their Orthodox Christmas. Like Russia, We in the U.S. should appreciate each other more.

Womens roles in Russia and in the U.S. is similar. Most of the mothers have to work and take care of the house as well as mothers in the U.S.

#10
Music in Russia and in the U.S. are similar as well with differences. They share common music artists like Katy Perry and Kanye West. In music both Russia and the U.S make music usually about the same thing like love and money. The differences in this is the language and the flow of their music.

#11
To me, the U.S. is more successful than Russia because here we didn't separate different people and since that didn't happen we could finally get used to the different ethnic groups and cultures. Since Russia did the opposite there reaction is not mutual.
