The Origins of Man - World Religions, Part Deux

The Religion I choose was Eckankar. Eckankar is a new religion made in the 19th century. It was founded in 1996 in Las Vegas,USA. The founder is John Paul Twitchell. Eckankar teaching is considered an advanced form of surat sabd yoga (yoga of the "Sound Current"). Eckankar teaches that the universe was created by a series of sound waves emanating from the Divine. Twitchell died in 1971 and was succeeded by Darwin Gross as leader of the movement. In 1981, Gross passed his authority to Harold Klemp, who remains the spiritual leader of Eckankar today. Their everyday practices are spiritual exercises in their own homes and at their own pace.
The Religion that i picked was Bön.Bön was Date founded: none (Original Bön); 16,000 BC (Yungdrung Bön, according to the Bönpo); 14th cent. AD. The religion is very difficult.it was also buddihism that is second in the 11th century.The Bönpo teach a second stage of Bön, which scholars generally dismiss, called Yungdrung Bön. Today, Bön can be found in the more isolated parts of northern and western Tibet, as well as in exile at the Tashi Menri Ling Monastery in Dolanji in Himachal Pradesh, India. The current leader of Bön is His Holiness Lungtok Tenpai Nyima.that is what i learned about Bön.
