Can Africa avoid violence after disputed elections?

As violence escalated, a shocked international community tried to mediate between the protagonists. In each case, negotiations broke down and armed conflict continued, causing hundreds of civilian deaths and an escalating humanitarian crisis.

Q: How would you react if the United States suffered through this?

Riots occured in the north. Nigeria is didvided rivalry between Muslim north and Christiam south. Both of these religions have cultural, ethnic and linguistic differences.
The presidency has often alternated the riots between the people who come for there two halvs of the country, to keep the peace.

The title of the event i researched was called Nigeria: Boko Haram blamed for Maiduguri bombings.

This article was about a bombing in Nigeria that took place two weeks ago on Sunday night, and Monday morning. The first blast killed 3 people and 14 people were wounded. They say that similar attacks have been blamed on the islamic boko haram sect. They have been fighting secrurity services in the city. This event broke the city into unrest followed by a presidential election.

Discussion Question: How does this attack relate to other stories we have learned about in class.
