It is alot of land and to me in my mind some places it might be poverty in some places becides the places some people vacation.
Qatar- Hotels the are very nice it looks like a hotel you would find in the bahamas or the U.S.
Dubai- looks like a very well developed city and very clean and no sighnsof poverty.
Oman Sultan- looks like a king or a powerfull dictator.
King and Queen of Jordan- They look like a normal american women thats married to a native king of jordan.
To me, the mental map of middle east are rocky, with hills, and a lot of ancient looking houses.
In Qatar Hotels I saw a huge well decorated hotel that I don't think anyone mind living in, In Dubai I saw a island with a lot of eclectic art work and time spent on it, Oman Sultan I saw a king looking guy, he looks pretty mean or like he likes to be in control, and the King and Queen of Jordan I saw that they were very beautiful and look like they are living a good life.
In my opinion when ithink of the middle east i think of Africa which is a desert, so probably not that many grasslands, but only just dust. That's basically my mental map.
But, as soon as i seen Dubai i was in awe because it looked RICH and FUN, it seems like it' s a place of vacation.
When i think of the Middle East I think of women with scarfs around and covering their faces , people riding on camles and I think of some of it to be kind of desert like. Some of the cultue about Middle East I know is that some women cant show their hair.
When I saw the photos I was evey suprised i knew parts of the Middle East were beautiful but those pictures were so pretty my mental map was way off on alot of parts about the Middle East.
i really dont no about the physical geography in the middle east but its probably plains everywere. there culture is different but normal to them.
after looking up thoses pictures my mental changed. now wen i think about middle east i think elegant,royal,luxurious. i saw very nice hotels landscapes and very rich people
my mental map of the middle east is: really hot,less water,alot of dust,desert,alot of bombings.
Qatar Hotels- high quality,4 star hotel very nice lol.
Dubai- its surrounded by bodies of water,it can b a vaction trip.long highways.
Oman Sultan- he look like the king of his country,who the ppl worship like he is their GOD.
King and Queen of Jordan- they look like they are the Mr.& Mrs. Obama of their country.
my mental map of the country was a very dirty and poor country,didnt have any landmarks or no place i wouldnt want 2 visit.
my mental map of the middle east was that it was dry and nothing but sand everywhere and camels. But what I saw at the Qatar Hotel was every beautiful and nice some where i might would like to go one-day maybe. The Dubal woah! look crazy something i haven't see before but it look amazing. I wouldn't thought that the middle east would have anything like the things that they do have i thought they was poor but they living good in some places.

dubai- looks like its such a pretty island full of cities and buildings.
The king and queen of Jordan- looks like they are the richest and wealthiest couple in their country it also looks like they are the head people in charge of it too.
Qatar Hotel-looks like the most expensive hotel in their country it also looks like somewhere people will spend their visit.
Oman Sultan- looks like a wealthy king thats very old and into the royal life.
thinking about my mental map and looking at those images i was way off about the middle east. because the country looks very wealthy and ancient and also relaxing. but it do looks alittle crowded everything is close by eachother.
My mental map of the middle east is like a whole bunch of dust in the air and on the ground, while people are just walking around poor and not athletic.
BUT the Qatar hotel look like it's in Las Vegas or something, and Dubai look like a game from what i seen.Places there make the U.S. look like booboo.

Dubai is beach like home that is surronded by a body of water. The Qatar hotals is an expinsive hotal maybe in Hollywood.
My Mental Map looks like there would be alot of dust almost like a dessert and it would be alot of hills. I also see no trees at all.
The Quatar Hotel looks like a Hotel That belongs in a big City. The Dubai looks like a grass island almost but i like the way it look.Oman Sultan palace doesnt look like anything that i would ever see in the Middle East. King and Queen Jordan doesnt look like they are from where they are from they look like Americans to me.
My mental map of the Middle East is the terrorist on September eleventh in two thousand and one. I also think of Muslim women with long curtains and dresses covering their faces.
What I know about their physical geography is that they have allot of deserts and also mountains.
I also know that there culture is mainly Islam. Islam came from their Judaism and Christian beliefs. They are monotheistic which means they believe in one God. They believe in God and Moses. Also they practice the five pillars.
When I looked up the King and Queen of Jordan photos it was just alot of pictures of two Caucasian people one is a man and of course the other one was a lady. They look like they have been together for a while. To me the pictures looked like a fairy tale or one of those princess movies. They look like the movie the beauty and the beast. It looked to me like they were in Egypt. It looked different from my mental map because I thought that it would be trashy down there and also poor.
my mental map on the middle east is alot of dry land. alot of arabs. umm when i think of middle east i think of olive oil, i think of camels and muslims. when i looked up all that stuff like the qatar hotels. i mean they were real nice i have never seen no hotels like them before. and dubai, i hear rappers talking about it but i never knew what they was talking about but now i know why they always rapping about dubai. thats gone have to be my next vacation trip. and there rulers. i didnt know they had kings and queens but they were regular and look cool

The images of Oman Sultan are different than what I would expect. I would think that his religion was buddism, but it looks like he is muslim.
well in my mental map i see a lot of open land. not a lot of tall buildings, i also see many big body's of water. which means the grass is very green because the soil is rich. but after i seen these pictures of hotels i have a update mental map. the pictures are beautiful.
For some countries American culture gives care bad influences to this younger generation.What I think there are the positive and negative about there culture.Physical geography is one of the two major subfields of geography. What I think of Culture is an society at a particular time and place.
Qatar Hotels:A fancy Hotel in a city were its alot of people and their crime rate is low.
Oman Sultan: A famous person or an king thats runs an country
Qatar Hotels-in these hotels i saw alot of rich people living in this or those areas i thought i was going to be a run down place
Dubai-in this area i saw alot of high and well brought up cities
Oman Sultan-i saw a king that was high up in power over his place
King and Queen of jordan- they look like normal people and a well non violent family
My mental map of the middle east was sandy, dusty with temples everywhere. Camels walking around and stuff. I imagined it poor money wise.. but rich in natural resources.
I dont know much about the physical geography .. I know they have alot of Oil Mines and other natural stuff the U.S would love to have. The Culture is very different. Im glad I live in the U.S and have freedom to do as I please ...

My mental map of the Middle East is that has a lot of land, one of the countries has my name in it and Saudi Arabia. What I know about the physical geography is that they have a lot of Oil mines, and coal. I think that the middle east would be cool to go to.
The Qatar Hotels are really beautiful, and everybody would love to go there like me. They look like a regular hotel but better.
The Dubai is really big place to walk around and look at new things.

I know that their are many mountains in the Middle East. I believe these mountains play many roles for the Middle East believe it or not. These mountains are beautiful, attractive, and creative.

I think their culture is different, strict, and ruling.

I looked at the Qatar Hotels, and I saw many hotels that were also beautiful, attractive, and creative. At night time, the hotels were filled with joyful colors! These images were a little similar with my mental map because I have seen hotels, mountains, and cities that were also amazing, beautiful, attractive, and creative.

My mental map of the Middle East is I think of sand hills and it is hot all the time like in Africa. I'm thinking that the Middle East and Africa look just alike with poor people and everything.
AFTER I SEEN THE PICTURES
The pictures are way totally different then what I. Thought the Middle East was going to look like. It really looks like a vacation spot if you would like to get away from all the stress in the United States. I really thought the Middle East was a poor place and never would have thought I would say that I would like to go there.
My mental map of the Middle East is that there is lots of tension between some of the countries in the Middle East.
Qatar- the hotels look like they are fun to hang out in and fun to be at when your on vacation.
Dubai-looks like a place where you can do lots of water sports.
Oman Sultan-looks like he is the ruler of something.
King and Queen of Jordan-they look like they are happy doing what they do.
Those images were different from my mental map because I thought that there would be lots of tension and lots of fights with some countries but it wasnt everything looked nice and calm.
i think of a lot of land open space, very hot, sandy, porr poelpe that need help stuff like that.
the Qatar Hotels are nice big and pretty,same might even be better than same of the ones we have there.the Dubai i dont know why but i didnt think they would have stuff like this ovr there but the do and it looks calm and far from poor i think we looking a little poor ovr there now. this changes how u look or think of some places now.
My mental map of middle east asia shows me that there is a lot of desert. There are houses that the people made, and there are some huts. I also see little parts that are somewhat modern like us.
When i looked at the pictures i saw many building that were even more beautiful than some of the buildings in the United States. I alos saw people who when it was needed dressed for their culture, but also dressed like normal people. These images were way different from my mental map of middle east asia. I didn't think eveything could be so modern.
